Having always liked wearing denim jeans I recently re-discovered the beauty of old denim as I purposed to re-cycle pre-loved jeans and denim cloths. Jeans and indeed denim no longer just comes in blue but there is a huge range of variety of colours and fabrics.
It all starts with a pair of pre-loved jeans (or skirt or jacket). The older the better. I like to experiment with un-picking appropriate seams and re-sew to form the new shape. Maybe I'll cut and fray areas. Using bleach adds light areas of interest. Sometimes I add embellishments items of lace, buttons and patches of denim etc. The finished items are my range of shoulder and tote bags, artist aprons. pencil cases and unique clothing.
